Being from Kentucky and one who attends the Kentucky Derby every year, it was really special that Churchill Downs and Mattel collaborated in the creation of a Barbie Doll relating to the Derby. This toy is not for children, but for adults who collect or wish to have something unique.

This 2009 Pink Label Barbie is absolutely stunning. The Kentucky Derby Barbie wears a flirty, flowery sun dress and oversized white brimmed hat. Derby hats are a fashion necessity at the races and Barbie’s hat is no exception. It features a delicate multicolored trio of roses. Her other accessories include race tickets, a faux pearl necklace, and tan high-heeled spring sandals. Barbie’s face and makeup are also gorgeous. This doll has a new face sculpt which is also featured on Barbie Basics Model #007 and AphroditeBarbie Exclusive 2009 GOLD Fantasy Series – APHRODITE. She is one of my favorite dolls from the 2009 Collector Line, and I tend to believe that others agree since this doll sold out quite quickly from the Mattel website.
